The KingmiXers
Riding With Mr Blues
Self-relased
Gary Preston, Anita Bonkowski and David Schade record blues as the KingmiXers. Their new album offers a solid and reliable take on the genre. They have a real feel
for their original material.
"Southern Train" has a nice harmonica part, and some sassy vocal to back it up. "Jump the Q" is a lively number that shows off the trio's talented approach to the blues.
"What'd I Say" by Ray Charles is the lone cover, and it's handled with class and confidence. The KingMiXers really know what they're doing. "Creepin" is a slow, sensuous
song with a cool arrangement.
The trio plays incredibly well together. It's an enjoyable, solid record.
