Japan - Full Moon 88 - 12/08/03
Naoko Sasaki records under the name Piana. Her music is gentle and thoughtful. Snow Bird
is a delicate record. Listening to it makes you worried that it might break. Music this introspective
can make the listener feel they are eavesdropping on the artist's private musings. The title track
is one of those moments when Sasaki's fragile voice and music moves me. "Spring has come!!" brings
Tujiko Noriko and Björk to mind. "Winter Sleep" is suitably glacial. "Voice" hisses with bursts
of static, but still remains calm.
It's a dreamy and sweet little record.
