Jodi Jett
Revelations
self-released

Jodi Jett starts her debut with the sardonic "Pretty Girl" and immediately gets my attention. Her sultry vocals and sharp words make the song special. The slow and sad "No Place Like Home" could have fitted on a Mazzy Star album, while the singing owes something to Chrissie Hynde. "80's Girl" is fun and catchy and the vocals have enough attitude to keep it from being silly. "Greasy" disses a sleazy male fan with acerbic wit. Jett's very convincing as she tells him off in a garage rock style. "Other Half" sees her sing of love in a sweet way.

She's a special artist and this debut is great.
