Switzerland - Full Moon 111 - 10/17/05
Softland Cristof Steinmann's solo project is the wistful electronica heard on this album. "Please Confirm the World" drifts by with bird noises, glitchy sounds and a sad vocal. "Moire" starts with an accordion and continues to sound like a small French café at dusk, passersby talking. "Huch" sees a distant voice wander amid hissing noises and rhythmic sounds. We end with "Envers" a sweet number which sees Steimann tap into the chanson tradition only to shatter it into tiny fragments with his modern sounds. It's alive and daring music.
