State of Distress
Dina Carpentio, also of jerseyturnpike, has just relased this solo EP. The music is dreamy and sweet. "Dulcet Stridor" washes over the listener, all soft sighs of vocals and ethereal backing. The Cocteau Twins would be proud. "I Have Almost Forgotten" is a melancholy, lovely song. Carpentio's barely audible vocal becomes an instrument among others. "Hush" mixes odd sounds into a state of heavenly bliss.
This record seems to be over before it's begun and I'd love it to last longer. But it's a fine introduction to Supergrip.
