Mary P Domhan
I Love Your Strange
self-released
Mary P Domhan's debut opens with the low throb of "Core", as Domhan vixen-ishly purrs like P.J Harvey on happy pills. It's a shiny electronic pop song with a bright chorus. "He's a Blowout" starts like a floorfiller at a goth club and then sounds considerably more melodic. Domhan's engaging singing makes it special. "A Happy Day" is a great song, blending Polly Jean's reserve with Depeche Mode's pop sensibility. "Looking for Somewhere" is sweet and slow. Domhan's vocal is lovely. This is a neat debut by a talented singer.
