Julia Othmer
Oasis Motel
Luna cadre

I've quite a fondness for piano players and Julia Othmer is one. She's no Tori clone thankfully, her pipes are more robust and her debut album relies on her songwriting skills. Opener "Hey Hey" is cacthy and folk-flavoured while the lead vocal is charming and sweet. "Darling" is a soulful little gem, Othmer singing of some irresistible guy.

"Never Listen" is a sprightly, pretty poppy track that should be a big radio fave. It builds to its irrepressible chorus beautifully. I'm reminded of the Corrs. (that's a good thing).

"Pull Me Back" is gently stirring, Othmer and her piano taking focus. This album is very accomplished.
