Alasdair White
An Clàr Gael (The White album)
Temple Records

Alasdair White is the fiddle player in the Battlefield Band and this is his solo venture. He plays with a skill that belies his young age and his take on both traditional and own material should appeal to fans of folk music both young and old.

His own "J Glo's Hornpipes" is a fine composition that really shows off his virtuoso playing. "Leaving Glendale" stitches together several old compositions and gets a plaintive piece out of them. "Ziri Piri" combines a Romanian tune with a French one and winds up sounding very good. White's talent and skill makes this an album to treasure.
