Sub Rosa
Strings & Arrows
Blue Rose Records

Sub Rosa consists of Jennifer Boeder and Jesse Hozeny ad this is their debut. Their sound is dreamy and their songs are just gorgeous. Boeder has a perfect voice too, this is apparent in "Lost you there" a sweet song where she sings in a hushed tone. It's a compelling portrait of loss. "Blue Pill" is lovely, Boeder's vocals set against a tranquil backdrop. The song bears a slight resemblance to long lost indie band Madder Rose.

That these songs were recorded in the group's home rather than a studio hardly shows. They've made a record they can be proud of and that should please fans of good music all over.
