Green Pitch's singer Rex Garfield slipped down a ladder when she was in Amsterdam and was paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair due to spinal injuries. She makes delicate music with her partner Ste Rasch and the results are queerly stunning. Garfield's soft Björk-ish coo and songs are really something.
"Reverse" is more of an up song than the others and as such is invigorating. "Midnight" is soft and recalls Stina Nordenstam's quiet determination. "New Year Departure" is among the strongest songs here with its lovely melody and bitter words. It really tugs at the heartstrings. So does all of this album. It's a magical record.
