Ari Shine
A Force Of One
Bongo Beat

After an impressive debut EP, Ari Shine releases his proper debut. He plays a smart, literate brand of power pop replete with hooks.

"She Wants It (More Than Me)" zips along zestfully at breakneck pace, Shine sounds like Dave Grohl here. "Flirtation Device" is a synth-driven song about getting no respect. "Party People" parties like it's 1979 and borrows a few tricks from Devo. Shine's music has many clear influences but mostly he stands on his own two feet.

The title song is a sensitive song which features one of Shine's best vocals. The slow tempo suits it fine. Shine's debut is special indeed.
