Madam
In Case of Emergency
Reveal Records

Madam a.ka Sukie Smith records burnished Americana for her debut album and has come up trumps. "Fall On Your Knees" opens her debut alluringly, with twangy guitar and yearning vocals. "Strange Love" is more midnight mood music with a serene lead vocal juxtaposed against a sweet melody. "Still" reminds me of Tanya Donelly's solo work with delicate vocals and a playful sense of moodiness. Smith's a very talented artist.

"Dirty That Makes Me" takes a relaxed approach musically but still hold great intensity. This is without doubt one of the best albums you'll hear all year.
