Wendy and Lisa
White Flags of Winter chimneys
Girl Bros.
Lisa Coleman and Wendy Melvoin probably don't need an introduction; they were members of Prince's band and then went successfully solo. Their new record
is a sophisticated and lovely record.
Opener "Balloon" is a folksy concoction that brings out the best in the duo's approach. "Ever After" is a piano-led ballad that works well. "Niagara Falls"
is a nicely psychedelic hush of a song with a gorgeous lead vocal. The title song gracefully sees them play a soft and sweetly layered song with some great
harmonies. It's suitably wintry but also curiously warm.
Wendy and Lisa's new album is a marvel to behold.
