The Minor White
Old Theatrics
Prairie Queen Records

The Minor White's debut album doesn't feel like it belongs in any scene or to any genre. They seem like a genuine article, with no other goals than making good music. "Go To Hell" is fun and energetic. Singer Roy Williams really lets loose on this one. "Vaudeville" is sort of Americana done in a sweeping, good way. Williams' vocal are low-key, almost mumbled which adds a nice touch. "I've Burned Down Every House" is another highlight, a playfully strange little song that seems to suit the band well. "Easy Elastic Girls" ends the album on a good note, a dreamy little song that's lightly strummed. The Minor White has made a memorable debut.
