Geoff Baker
Adding Up the Everything We Lost
self-released

Geoff Baker follows his impressive debut album with an equally nice EP. His sense for stirring melodies is intact as is his great voice.

Opener "Indiana" is plaintive yet poppy and has some great passages. "Hope is not a compass, it's a cloud" is a neat song, Baker singing of youth and music. The lyrics are wry and poignant and the melody bright. "None of this is real" is dreamy and feather light, like Damien Rice can be. "We fell asleep listening to Astral Weeks" sings Baker. That would make for interesting dreams. Baker's yet again made a lovely record.
