Peter Wolf Crier
Inter-Be
Jagjaguwar

Minneapolis-based duo of Peter Pisano and Brian Moen form the twosome Peter Wolf Crier, who put out their debut, Inter-Be, some moonths back. Therefore it's not brand new, yet, it's so kool that I choose to have this late rather review and recommendation. Like always, the stamp of Jagjaguwar is a stamp of quality.

Inter-Be was, according to the Jagjaguwar site, "...born on a single summer night when Pisano felt a torrent of creativity after what had felt, to him, like an interminably long dry spell". Those songs written by Pisano (formerly of The Wars of 1812) were presented to drummer Moen (of Laarks and Amateur Love), and some months of riping could present this finished album. A record slightly reminding of some Jagjaguwar label-mates, like Bon Iver, Volcano Choir, and Gayngs. But, mind you, only slightly.

Inter-Be is a touching collection of great songs, with excellent and accurately discreet drumming by Moen. As a fine addition to the semi-raw guitar of Pisano. In fact, even though the attitude and sound mostly is quite mellow, some songs sound like Dinosaur Jr. sketches. On the edge of rock. Inter-Be holds 11 tracks, and it's definitely one of the charmers of the year.
