Blabbermouth
Me and the Metronome
Hobgoblin Records

Steve Thompson records as Blabbermouth and he has a sensitive yet evocative style on this album. "Happy!" is an unhappy song that he delivers without an once of self-pity. The tune is gorgeous and recalls Sufjan Stevens somewhat. "Death of a Songwriter" imagines haunting someone from beyond the grave by having your song played on the radio. It's dark and kinda funny.

"Don't Wanna Go Home" is a bit more folksy than the other songs and all the better for it. His vocals sound great here. "Chicken" is a funny song about eating just that. I doubt it'll soundtrack a commercial but you never know. It's a very nice and well-accomplished album in all.
