Amy Coleman
Goodbye New York
Self-released

Amy Coleman is gusty enough to start her new album with a cover of John Lennon's "Mother" and make it work. She has vocal firepower to spare, and works her way to the song's anguished heart. Her own songs have plenty to offer as well. The title song sees Coleman deliver a dramatic farewell to New York with a great del of melodic power. Her vocals are as ever replete with intrigue and power.

"Anyone Who Had A Heart" is another brilliant cover, Coleman delivering a tense and highly emotive version. She really has the knack for these things. "Let's Pretend" sees her deliver a ballad about self deception at the end of a relationship. She does a bittersweet and perfect performance. It's a firecracker of an album so be careful around it.
