Mark Mandeville
No Big Plans
Nobody's Favorite Records

Mark Mandeville's record is a likeable Americana record with some great songs. He has a voice that's pleasant without losing its edge.

"Proof" features a tune that's instantly engaging, and a cool lyric that he delivers well. "Wrong Side Of That Line" sees Mandeville and his musicians play a country tune with a classic lyric about love gone wrong, yet they make it sound fresh and relevant. "I Ain't Going Out There" is a lightly strummed song about giving up though it's more resilient than one might think. "Keep On" closes the album on an intimate and beguiling note. It's a lovely album.
