Renée Wahl makes thoughtful Americana on this record. Her vocals are stunning in these songs. "On Something New" is a breezy, confident opener that allows her to emote against a sprightly backdrop. "One more to go" is a sweet song with a broken-hearted lyric that Wahl carries off with a pinch of Kasey Chambers' mix of sass and vulnerability.

"Roses are Blue" is a traditional country tune that twists some familiar words. Wahl's tough singing is right on the money. "Love Won't Be Denied" is a soulful song that shows off Wahl's dynamic vocals. She really has a knack for these things. It's a wonderful album.
