Manisha Shahane
Where Parallel Lines Meet
Manisha Shahane

Manisha Shahane has a sound that allows many influences, and is all the better for it. "Girls Gone World" is an Indian-influenced track with a trip hop beat and a host of guest singers adding words in different languages. "Remember This Day" sees Shahane sing to a sinuous beat and she recalls a serene voiced Loreena McKennitt. "Still" is utterly gorgeous and yet suspenseful track with a slight Western feel. Shahane's supple vocals undulate gracefully against the lovely backing.

"In Search of Yaman" dials up the Indian influence and sees her at her bewitching best. It's one of those perfect songs that only gets better with each play. It's a wonderful album.
