Jacob Faurholt makes experimental music as Crystal Shipsss, brief yet energetic songs that shape a unique world. He recorded the album in Berlin and it has a very Berlinian atmosphere. At times it recalls early nineties indie like Pavement, at other times it's acutely now.

"My Dark Shiny Soul" is a quiet moment that's still fraught with tension; it has a very Galaxie 500 feel to it. "Romantic" is speedy and energetic with a real sadness at its heart. Faurholt has a real knack for things like that. It's an album well worth investigating. Faurholt always has something intriguing up his sleeve.
