West of Eden
Songs From The Twisting River
West of Music

West of Eden has been performing folksy music for a while now. Their new album sees them collaborate with some real folk talent. Ron block from Alison Krauss band and folk star Kate Rusby are among them. An old band member, David Ekh had to leave after an illness, and Per Öjerot and Martin Holmlund came on board as new members. Martin and Jenny Schaub remain on board.

"Spelling Song" is a great, up-tempo song with a lovely lead vocal by Jenny Schaub." Song for a Rover" laments things lost, but is hardly downcast; Jenny's vocals have a warm timbre throughout. "The Bee That Stung" is a suitably dreamy song that benefits from Kate Rusby's lovely vocal. Her and Jenny's duet is a thing of beauty in a song that sounds like a folk classic. "Twisting River" closes the album on a good note, the band playing a song with soft lead vocal and a sense of hope.
