Interseed
9.99.01.
Own label

Summer of 1999, at the Jericho Tavern in Oxford. As I was waiting for a gig, drinking my tasty pint of Guinness, Interseed were going to play on the stage upstairs. I had never heard the name before, but I enjoyed their music a lot, the particular atmosphere they succeeded in transmitting, surrounding the audience with their interesting sounds. Sometimes on the dark-side, sometimes on the dance-side. The line up is Jason Sherwood on vocals and guitars, Martin Litherland on the bass guitar, and Adrian Powell on programming, keyboards, etc.

Now I'm happy to be able to listen to the demo they kindly sent me, entitled 9.99.01.. Wish is my favourite from this record, and Air West from an earlier production, which could be the track that Leftfield never included on Leftism.

My report: lots of influences from the 80's, they remind me of the Depeche Mode, but with a 90's attitude towards faster electronic loops and clean plastic sounds, succeeding in marking the compositions with their own touch, where "bits" get married with guitar and bass!

I hope I one day will be in front of the main stage at the Glastonbury Festival when Interseed are playing, just like they dream of!
