Beachwood Sparks
Once We Were Trees
Sub Pop/Rough Trade

On their debut album Beachwood Sparks showed great promise and with their new album they manage to do one of the best album of the year. Country with a little bit of classic Byrds-pop and all mixed with the psychedelia of San Fransisco.

The album also contain one of the best covers I've ever heard. Sade's By Your Side is a great song when Sade does it but in Beachwood Sparks' version it's even better. Harmonica and a feeling of the wild west. Get this album, no other pop group has been close to do something as wonderfull as this in 2001 or the latest years. Tune in, turn on, and don't drop out...
