Twilight Babies
If You want me to I could write it down
self-relased

The expressive Alison Lewis fronts the Twilight Babies. Their sound lies somewhere between Portishead and Lamb. "Highway of Fire" is a jazzy, pleasant song which highlights Lewis's subtle crooning. "Forlorn" is up-tempo and sounds very club-friendly. Lewis sounds sad and distant against the warm throb of the music.

The laid-back "Ballad of Chinook" namechecks Rickie Lee Jones and Alison Lewis sounds a bit like her here. "Red Circle" is very much like Moloko in its quirky, amiable way. It marries Arabic touches to drum and bass in an inspired fashion.

This record is a splendid debut for Twilight Babies.
