Call Me Loretta
Crosswind
Dead Bees

Call Me Loretta's vocalist Stephanie Commenay has a deceptively innocent voice to frame her bands dark songs. The bands debut is gorgeous melodies wed to guitar distortion and barely hidden malevolence. Comparisons to Sonic Youth certainly make sense, particularly that bands fertile nineteen-nineties period.

"Have you ever heard Lilian Gish" has a glacial vocal set against a tide of guitars. A sense of anxiety permeates the song. "Things I Hate No 4" brings out the bands strengths with guitars slashing away as Commenay calmly sings "...I whisper my hatred". "White Noise Lover" is a droney blast of psycho rock full of suspense.

It's a strong debut for this talented group.
