Tom Bolton
When I Cross The River

Tom Bolton crafts folk-influenced songs with real wit and intelligence. His new album contains more than its share of memorable songs.

"Three Hearts" is a song of hope and love regained, Bolton's earnest vocals very much to the fore. "Whose Army" turns political with good results, Bolton's question is; if my people did this to me who will protect me? That holds true no matter who you are where you were born.

"Where You Wanna Go?" is a sweet song for a traveling friend with lightly strummed guitar and accordion to support it. "Hold the Sun" is an ode to keeping the fires burning and it shows Bolton’s strength as a songwriter. The bonus disc has a song about biscuits, which is kinda fun. Bolton's made a very enjoyable record.
