Tom Bolton
Dancing And Dreaming
Tom Bolton / self

The last album by Tom Bolton was a treat, and his new one is an equally deft songwriting exercise. He essays a version of Tim Buckley's evergreen "Song to the Siren" and gives the haunting song a folksy slant that suits it. "New Dream" is an intimate song that swiftly endears itself to the listener. He sings of hope in a rousing way.

"Road to Knowing" retains a sense of wide-eyed wonder as Bolton sings of finding new things. It's a reflective and hopeful song. He also covers Neil Young's lovely "Wrecking Ball" that Emmylou Harris once sang so remarkably. Here it's just as good, and with a country feel that seems right. Bolton's made another fine album.
