John Connolly
The Wind
JC / self-released

John Connolly's latest minialbum is a cool, folksy affair with some great songs. "Unfinished Business" is a becalmed opener with some great fiddle by Stuart Duncan. Connolly's voice is calm and collected. The title song is equally deft, Connolly coming across in a strong light as a songwriter. It sensitively reflects on nature and the loss we must sometimes suffer in this life.

"Does it snow?" is a sensitive song that he handles well, in a country-ish way. The album is over way too quickly. Here's hoping he makes a full length soon.
