Pere Ubu
Lady From Shanghai
Fire Records

The Lady From Shanghai is a Hollywood film directed by Orson Wells and starring him and his wife at the time, Rita Hayworth, no less! When it was released in 1948, some considered it a disaster. Wells hadn't had control over the editing of the film. In retrospect it has gained a better reputation, not least because of some classic film-noir scenes.

Lady From Shanghai is the new Pere Ubu album. I haven't had the chance to study it in-depth yet, we will return to the album next full moon. One thing is for sure, though, Ubu is back with a revenge after the bad hair day-gig in Oslo one and a half years ago.
