Donovan's Brain
Turned Up Later
Career Records
Donovan's Brain has released seven albums of psychedelic rock and their new effort sees them on a high note.
"As the crow flies" is a prime slice of dreaminess with a lovely guitar part to guide it. "My own skin" is a sensitive, soft song with a melody straight out of the
sixties. It still resonates to modern ears. "Cardboard Army" is a hard-edged political commentary on war and its losses. The band is in perfect synch with each other
as ever.
"In Search of Connie Companion" is a song that recalls bygone eras while still looking forward to the future. The dreamy wash of vocals and melody is just right.
It's another great album by Donovan's Brain.
